Patch 1.14 โ The Hell Gate Opens
A gate to the Hell Dungeon has opened in Katan โ four Unique bosses at 230, twenty more at 215, and the whole Lava line coming off them. Plus: the threat overflow that kept dropping tanks to the bottom of the aggro list, a taming penalty cut by two thirds, the Luciad Iron Mask at five times the drop rate, belts that can finally be awakened, and the guild-rank permission that stops most players ever seeing the guild buff.
A gate to the Hell Dungeon has opened in Katan โ twenty-four residents, four of them Unique bosses, and the whole Lava line's material coming off them. ๐ฅ Elsewhere: the reason tanks kept losing aggro on long fights has been found.
๐ฅ The Hell Gate
Entrance to Hell Dungeon โ a warp gate now stands at 115122, 59643 in Katan and leads straight down. Level 200 is required; below that it turns you away rather than dropping you somewhere you cannot survive.
Four Unique bosses at level 230 hold the deep chambers โ Khaezrael-Othuni, Fiend Tamahakan, Prince of Flame and Hound of Perdition โ and twenty lesser things at level 215 roam between them. Leviathan of Phlegethon is the largest thing down there by some margin, roughly three times the bulk of anything else that flies.
The dungeon is the source for
Lava Drop, the material behind the entire Lava line: the Physical, Magic and Defence Lava Wings,
Lava Cube and
Advanced Lava Cube, and all fourteen Lava weapons and shields โ twenty-six craftable results in all.
Lava Box comes off everything down there, and the bosses are guaranteed to hand them over.- Khaezrael-Othuni โ
Lava Box ร3โ6, guaranteed. - Hound of Perdition โ
Lava Box ร1โ5 plus a
Lava Drop, guaranteed. - Fiend Tamahakan and Prince of Flame โ
Lava Box ร1โ3, guaranteed. - The twenty at level 215 โ
Lava Box ร2, and
Lava Drop at 0.09%.
Dark Cube surfaces here too, but only barely โ Meranosa is still where you farm them.
The monster names arrive in the game with the next client patch. Until then they read correctly here on the site but not yet in your client.
โ๏ธ Threat
Tanks no longer lose aggro out of nowhere. On long fights, accumulated threat ran past its ceiling and flipped negative โ and whoever had built the most threat dropped instantly to the bottom of the list. It hit the tank first precisely because he was winning: he is the one who gets there.
This is why raising a Templar's threat made things worse rather than better. The higher the multiplier, the sooner the wrap. On content where a hit lands in the millions it took about two and a half minutes.
Fixed in code โ arrives with the next server update.
๐พ Creatures
- Skins no longer break your creature's skills. Putting a skin on Hector made
Tetra Element,
Lightning Explosion and
Mystic Shield 1 refuse to cast โ the game mistook the skin for the weapon those skills require, and the cast never even started. Those three also no longer need a weapon at all, matching how every other creature skill already behaves. Arrives with the next server update. - The taming penalty is cut by roughly two thirds. The six hardest creatures โ Grand Master Hector, Hector's Shadow and the four high Gladiators including Death Gladiator โ carry a built-in penalty your gear has to out-weigh before you can catch them at all. It was steep enough that a complete set of taming gear still left you at one success in a thousand.
Crystal Sword +
Crystal Glasses +
Star Emblem now reads โ0.90% โ +1.56%, and with
Luciad Iron Mask on top +0.10% โ +2.56%. - Four items carry the taming bonus, at one point each, and it is nowhere in the tooltips:
Crystal Sword,
Luciad Iron Mask,
Star Emblem and
Crystal Glasses. The mask and the glasses sit in different slots, so they stack.
Luciad Iron Mask drops five times as often. No recipe, no shop, no box โ it comes off one monster in the whole game. Devil Skeleton in Sky Fortress goes 0.1% โ 0.5%, and since the Skeleton is one of the thirteen whose health came down this patch, those kills are faster too. Mind the level gap โ kill something ten or more levels below you and your drop rate starts falling, reaching nothing at twenty.- Grade 2 cards can be staged.
Grandmaster Hector Card and
Death Gladiator Card could not be staged at any level โ no recipe existed for their grade, so the window simply refused them. The full S0 โ S5 ladder is in:
Soul Catalyst at 35 / 22 / 18 / 12 / 8%,
Advanced Soul Catalyst at 80 / 60 / 45 / 35 / 25%, plus 0.125% per pet level on each of main and sub.
๐ ๏ธ Crafting and gear
- Belts can finally be awakened. A belt that had never been awakened sat outside every recipe, so
Final Awakening Stone: Armor refused it outright โ there was no way to reach the later bands because there was no first one. The entry band at Luciad Power 0โ3 is added, the upper band ceiling goes 31 โ 39, and the final band now opens at 40 instead of 32. - Soul stones craft in batches at Yushiva's Relic Keeper. The whole ladder โ Normal โ Polished โ Teardrop โ Enhanced โ is on the menu, in batches of 1, 10 or 50.
๐ฐ Sky Fortress
Longer leash, better eyesight. Its monsters were tied so tightly to their spawn point that they broke off almost immediately, and they noticed you far too late. All thirteen have been retuned: chase range 30 โ 50, visible range โ 15, and health ร3.
๐ก๏ธ Guilds โ the one that catches everyone
Not a change, but worth saying plainly. Get Guild Buff spends your own Guild Points and buffs only you โ but whether you may press it is decided by your guild rank, and it is switched off by default on every rank of every guild.
Leaders turn it on from the guild window's permission list: tick the buff permission for each rank that should have it. Until someone does, the button answers "Cannot get guild buff, insufficient guild grade." and nothing happens โ which is why in most guilds only the leader has ever seen the buff land.
Enjoy the Hell Gate! โค๏ธ
